Ready for another week

Well its been a rough week, between me not feeling well, my walking partner not being well and our lovely weather my exercise was a dvd one or two days last week and the other days it was nothing. I did watch my eating to some extend. I was up 1/2lb but thats okay because its that time of the month for me. Glad the snow and ice has started to melt its almost all gone. I still won't be able to walk tomorrow, so I will be doing a dvd tomorrow evening. I'm working on my menu plan for the week. I received some sad news over the weekend, I"m normally am an emotional eater and I'm proud to say I didn't go pig out. I'm excited for this coming weekend I'm making a trip home for my cousin wedding, so we shall see how much temptation I can avoid. I'm not sure what I"m going to wear, I hate being the size I am, because nothing looks good on me. Well am off to finish up somethings around the house, check again tomorrow I hope.

Planning for a Good Week

Hate I didn't post yesterday, but I spend the day working some things out in my mind. First I got up and went to church, and got my soul refreshed with Gods words. When I came home, I made lunch. Then I spend the day cleaning and relaxing all trying to get my thinking straight. I spend much time in prayer with God, asking for his help to lose weight and get healthy. I have my menus planned now for the week and my exercise plan in place. I was hoping to walk today, but my walking buddy leg is hurting again, so instead a done my Biggest Loser Cardio DVD. Then I went to check out some of the weight lose blogs and found a contest thats going on over at http://alltheweigh2009.blogspot.com/. Kenz is doing "Family and Friends Getting Thin Weekly Bonus Challenge", The challenge for this week is to eat five servings of fruits and/or vegetables. If you already eat 5, then add one per day. Faith

I'm on a journey to rediscover the faith I had as child. I remember when I was younger and things seemed so bad, but because of my faith I always know I could survive. Unfortunately I came disconnected from God and lost myself and the way along the way somewhere. Today I'm am setting out to discover it again. I know once I get myself right with God different things will fall into place. So my blog will not only be a journey of my weight loss struggles but also my journey to rediscovering my faith. I commit myself to doing my Daily Moments in His Presence Devotions, reading my journal and praying.

My first stop of the day was at the Family Christian Bookstore, where I bought the Daily Moments in His Presence Devotions, The Love Dare, and a journal. Then off to the Grocery store I went, I prayed before I went in for God to help me spend my grocery money wisely and to help me stick with healthy foods for me. I still buy my hubby the junk food he likes, but I try to keep out anything that I would be temped to eat. So I did get me several things that I believe will make good snacks for me and things that would make on of my favorite meals a little better for me.

I need to get up and do some housework so I can make us some dinner after while and try to do a workout DVD. If the rain lets up tomorrow, I'm hoping to go for a walk/run in the afternoon. We shall see how that all works out.

A Good Meeting

Today has been the only day this week I formally exercised, I walked a 1.5 miles with my walking buddy before I went to my TOPS meeting, I"m happy to report I lost 1.5lbs this week. I did manage to keep a food log all week. I have done lots of cleaning and little things this week that has helped me burn up some calories. I wasn't expecting that much of a weight loss, so I'm happy. My goals for this coming week, is to keep up drinking my water, keeping a food log and to exercise more. I've noticed on the nights I don't exercise, I don't sleep as well. My walking buddy and I have made plans to walk no matter the weather condition next week, even if we have to wallk in the mall. I hope to sit down tomorrow or Saturday to plan out our meal and snacks for the week.

I've looked this week at doing some races in the next couple months, I have some that I'm looking at and discussing with my hubby.

2010 Goals

I thought I would start a blog to keep a scrapbook of my journey through 2010 and my weight lose journey this year. One of my main goals is to lose weight this year. I joined TOPS back in July of 09 and had lost 10lbs by the end of December, unfortunately I gained over the holidays.I getting back on track. My meetings are on Thursday nights. So I'll update either on Thursday nights or Fridays how my week had went. I starting walking last year, I did a walking/running clinic called Women Can Run back in March that lasted till March. I competed in my first 5k race and I was hooked. I kept walking with some of the ladies I might and we done another clinic sponsored by SPA PACERS in Hot Springs, Ar. I pushed myself and done a 10k in November. I had done several practice walk/run over the course leading up to it to make sure I would be able to finish. I may not run much yet, it mostly a lot walking with some running intervals. I plan on doing the Women Can Run clinic that starts in February. In the meantime I'm still walking with a friend of mine. Looking to see if I can find a race to do again soon.
